Interests

Trained as a sociologist I explore the complex relationships between the body, technology, and society.

Background

I have a broad academic background with degrees in Sports Coaching, Social Science Research Methods, and the Sociology of Education. For the past five years I have been primarily interested in how emerging technologies (AI, synthetic biology, biohybrid systems, gene editing and so on) reshape our bodies, lives, and societies. My current project, Biohybrid Bodies, funded by the Leverhulme Trust investigates these themes across artistic, sporting, and industrial contexts.
